ORGANISM Architecture+Engineering+Urbanism, is a private consultants firm, and it is dedicated to promote social, economic and environmental sustainable development.

PHILOSOPHY AND VISION:

At ORGANISM, all urban entities, whether it is a small house, a block, a neighborhood, a district or a city, are considered as an integral part of a bigger living-urban system. Hence, similarly to any other biological body; every addition or alteration to this body must be compatible with its organism; otherwise it shall fail to perform its functions and the body is negatively affected.

In this process, ORGANISM takes a holistic approach to design buildings and urban settings that would not only be influenced by their surroundings, but which will also communicate with, and enhance the context positively

ORGANIZATION AND EXPERIENCE:

The essence of the firm is the collective talent of its professionals and the manner in which their individual skills are co-ordinate for the efficient solution of architectural, engineering and planning problems, The organization of ORGANISM is shaped by its many years of experience and is composed of the following major sections:

-    Planning and Housing Consultancy.
-    Architectural Consultancy.
-    Engineering, Consultancy.
-    Contract Administration, Supervision and Project Management             Consultancy. 

Depending on the nature of the project, the planning and/or design team is composed from the relevant professionals, and where necessary other professionals are incorporated into the team. Likewise is the supervision team.

ORGANISM's Partners participate jointly in each project to formulate the concept, to select the optimum alternative, to ensure suitability and sustainability of basic scheduling and cost estimates, to assign sufficient qualified personnel to maintain scheduling progress, and to ensure careful control of costs and adequacy of technical determinations and competence.

With its team collective 45 years of professional experience, ORGANISM’s Completed work includes private office buildings, residential buildings, laboratory and university buildings, hotel and recreational facilities, rural development projects, and projects of the commercial, industrial, residential and religious building sectors.

Omer Karoum -Founder and Managing Director-  an Architect/Urban designer/Planner, with 20 years of professional experience, and a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, mixed-use as well as public-building projects, working in renowned firms in Khartoum-Sudan- and Abu Dhabi- United Arab Emirates. Omer also is co-founder of Sudan Architecture Forum "SAF" and member of Sudan Sustainable building Council "SSBC", and Sudan Urban Development Think Tank “SUDTT”.

Eng. Ibrahim Awad, head of engineering and project management. With over 25 years, Ibrahim’s previous experience includes working in large scale projects in Sudan and Saudi Arabia, both as a consultant and as a contractor.

DESIGN AESTHETIC:

ORGANISM’s design aesthetic could be summarized in “The marriage of contrasts”, with preference for practicality and minimalism in design approach.
